Justin Gulbrandson
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer at Collaborative Industries, Justin is responsible for financial reporting and analysis, contract compliance and negotiation, budget preparation, and employee benefit plan design. Justin also provides oversight of Collaborative’s Finance and Information Technology Departments.

He gained valuable experience by literally working his way up throughout his career. Justin began in a position providing direct support to people with developmental disabilities in 1997. He soon became a Residential Manager, supervising staff and overseeing the operations of a residential setting. In 2002 Justin was appointed Director of Finance and Human Resources of a newly formed organization. In 2005 that company merged with a current Collaborative affiliate and he was appointed Chief Financial Officer. When Collaborative Industries was formed in 2006, Justin was named its first Chief Financial Officer.

Justin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He has completed additional coursework in the Master of Business Administration program at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

Justin loves spending time with his family, and especially enjoys being a dad. He said, “Every evening after work I am welcomed home with hugs and smiles, and requests to read books, draw pictures, and play games. My eldest daughter loves the outdoors, even in the winter. We already share a love of swimming, and she has even been to wrestling meets and golf and football games with me.”

Justin and his wife, Kim, like to bring friends and family together to share meals. They also enjoy movies together, and play racquetball. They have taken a number of long road trips with their daughters to visit family in Kansas City, Memphis, Chicago, and Canada. Justin said “Our eldest daughter often entertains us with her singing, and her little sister is right there dancing to the beat.”

Justin also finds time for reading, and he listens to every genre of music. He noted that he’s recently taken-up playing Rock Band on the Wii, and says it’s sometimes hard to put the guitar down!
