Colby Coash
Director of Training & Staff Development
Colby coordinates all training for Collaborative Industries and affiliated human services organizations. This includes the oversight and development of curriculum, assessment, and implementation. He also oversees various HR functions.
Colby has worked in the human services field for more than 10 years. He held positions of direct support, management, coordination, and director in the human services industry. Colby has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nebraska and is completing his work towards a Masters degree in Leadership Development at UNL.
Colby has trained hundreds of human service professionals at all levels on best practices in support provision, management, and leadership. He has presented at local and state-wide conferences on areas of behavior management and Universal Enhancement.
In January of 2009, he was elected State Legislator for District 27, representing southwest Lincoln. As a State Legislator, he serves on the Judiciary, Urban Affairs, and General Affairs committees. In May of 2009, Colby was appointed to serve on the Developmental Disabilities Oversight and Children’s Behavioral Health Task Force committees.

Colby is a Nebraska State Senator and when not serving his constituency, he values spending time with his wife, Rhonda, and son, Cole. Colby and Rhonda are also active members in their church.
When he finds free time, Colby enjoys working on his classic cars. He has been known to spend entire Sunday afternoons washing his cars and is looking forward to the day when Cole can assist him.
Colby has been restoring old cars since he and his dad restored Colby’s great-grandfathers F-150 together. He said, “I have been doing it since I can remember but only started doing it on my own in the last 10 years. It is more of a way of bonding with my dad than anything else. My father and I have a few 4th generation owner vehicles.”
Colby's creative side is satisfied in endeavors to create new cocktails and home-made fragrances. He’s made cologne and perfume from essential oils including lavender and sandalwood.
